Landscape Artist of the Year returns to Sky Arts on Wednesday 12th of January. Joan Bakewell hosts the competition in the search for the nation’s best landscape painter, with the first batch of contestants painting a scene of the biomes at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Kate Williams explores more gruesome stories of palace history in the second series of Secrets of the Royal Palaces on Channel 5, investigating how St James’s Palace doctors killed their queen, why a young African prince is buried in Windsor, and how Queen Anne had two confidantes fighting over her. The first episode goes out on Saturday 8th January at 8:30pm.

Dr. Helen Lawal has partnered up with WW (WeightWatchers) for their ‘Hangriest Day of the Year Campaign’. The 5th of January has long been the crux of “hangriness” as people begin to get fed up of their new year quick fix diets. Dr. Helen will be doing a series of radio and print interviews discussing the drawbacks of fad diets, highlighting that consistency is key to seeing long term health benefits. Using nutritional and behavioural science, WW have developed a plan which aligns with these healthier lifestyle habits and promotes a better way to diet.

Greg Jenner’s new Radio 4 series Past Forward: A Century of Sound kicks off on Monday 3rd January at 1:45pm with a discussion on the rise of car culture in Britain and what the future holds for us in terms of transport. Each day over the next two weeks, Greg will use a BBC archive clip to uncover connections through people, places and ideas which link the clip to modern day Britain in 2022 as part of the BBC’s Centenary celebrations.
