Kofi’s narrative is always interesting, informative and delivered with passion. This passion is infectious and he brings out the best in everyone and everything he touches – “or your money back”, he says.
Kofi was chosen over 200 people to be the BBC’s Face of Hull; presenter, reporter and ‘go to’ for the UK City of Culture 2017. He was omnipresent, appearing on BBC Radio 4, BBC 1, BBC News Channel, and more. Kofi and his team won the prize for Digital Journalism at the O2 Media Awards for the coverage.
Since then, he has set up the young people’s platform called ‘BBC No Filter’, a place to amplify the voices of young people. Kofi hosts a radio show of the same name on BBC Humberside and also works as a videographer and video editor.
Now you can find him waking up East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire as the host of the BBC Radio Humberside Breakfast show all the while managing time to occasionally host Radio 4’s The Listening Project and Pick of the Week.
Kofi spent his time at the University of Northumbria cultivating and sharpening his digital creation skills by making videos to post on YouTube with his friends and team over at CTK Media. They produced niche content which included sketches and political satire; the team also launched the popular vegan pop culture cooking channel, Kofi’s Kitchen. The channel allowed him to fuse his love of veganism, cooking, comic books, movies and pop culture in entertaining, informative and engaging videos.
Kofi is a warm and personable events host, public speaker and conversation facilitator. Credits include the Doncaster Business Awards, which he has hosted for the last three years, and events like This is Hull for the University of Hull.
Kofi is a flexible and resilient individual who can handle difficult and uncomfortable conversations whilst also making space for moments of levity when needed. His life’s passion is storytelling, and in his spare time he enjoys reading books and graphic novels and watching film and television.
