After 20 years on BBC Breakfast, Louise Minchin has announced that she will be leaving on the 15th of September, 2021. Louise has covered the full range of topics while on the famous red sofa, and has no doubt been a consistent fixture helping countless early risers through their regular morning routine. Having been the face of the UK’s most watched Breakfast programme, Louise has said that this is a big change for her but she’s definitely looking forward to any new challenges ahead!

We’re delighted to announce that the award-winning broadcaster Jane Garvey will be launching a new podcast with the Radio Times, the UK’s leading authority on television and radio. Already a regular weekly columnist for the Radio Times, Jane will host The Radio Times Podcast every Wednesday alongside Rihanna Dhillon to talk TV and more! From interviews with the biggest names on television to recommendations of the shows you dare not miss, Jane and her guests will mark your card for must-see television in the week ahead. In the first episode, available from Wednesday 8 September, Jane talks to Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham about their powerful new C4 drama Help. The podcast will be available on all regular streaming apps.

Greg Jenner will be hosting the fourth series of his podcast You’re Dead to Me. Bringing together the best names in comedy and history, Greg navigates the annals of time to learn and laugh about the past. The new series starts Friday 20th of August and is available on all podcast streaming services and apps.

Samira Ahmed’s Art of Persia has been shortlisted for Best Documentary Programme in the Broadcast Digital Awards 2021. The Broadcast Digital Awards celebrate the most creative and innovative digital content from across the UK. Recognising and rewarding the most dynamic digital channels and programmes, effective and relevant second screen content, multi-platform projects and original content produced online. The event will take place live on the 6 October 2021 at The Brewery, London. All episodes of Art of Persia are available on BBC iPlayer.

Jane Garvey hosts the 200th episode of Fortunately on Radio 4 tonight at 11pm. In this special edition, comedian Shappi Khorsandi joins Jane and Fi, along with a live and socially distanced audience, at London’s Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre. With the help of a high tech interactive Q&A, Jane and Fi quiz the audience and face a few probing questions themselves. They are later joined by Shappi, who tells them about her upcoming book Kissing Emma, Rambo crushes and likens the ladies to Muppets.

Mike Bushell hosted the Made in the North West Awards for Newsco Insider this Wednesday. Mike was a massive hit, moderating the event to and receiving high paise. Newsco reported back with the accolade: Mike was an absolute dream to work with! What a lovely man! He was also very good on stage, made an effort to mingle with the crowd before and after dinner and overall, I thought he was fantastic – looking forward to having him again!
