TimHarford

Tim Harford has received some spectacular reviews in the papers for his BBC World Service series ‘50 Things That Made the Modern Economy’. Here’s what publications such as The Daily Telegraph and The Times had to say about the series.

Tim Harford’s 50 Things That Made the Modern Economy is a marvel of brevity, clarity and original thinking, and the best multi-part documentary series I’ve heard since Radio 4’s A History of the World in 100 ObjectsThe Daily Telegraph

This is what BBC radio is for. The series is utterly compelling and low-key… Just brilliant ideas, told simply. A wonderful, wonderful programme. The Times

I love these fact-filled micro-documentaries, steeped in history… A masterclass in socioeconomic storytelling. The Financial Times

As quoted in The Times - Channel 5's approach to making history programmes has improved greatly in recent years and this new series, showing on consecutive nights and exploring the Great Fire of London, is recommended.
