Guy is the ultimate outdoors renaissance-man; a skilled sailor, diver, hunter, rider and all round outdoorsman who is also a published author and journalist. Based in the Inner Hebrides off the remote North West coast of Scotland, in between adventures he works as a scallop diver.
From 2004-2005 he lived solo in the wilderness of the Interior of Alaska, documented in his bestselling book 'Call of the Wild: my escape to Alaska'. In 2006 he co-presented the Channel 4 series The Wild Gourmets and subsequently A Cook's Tour of Spain which used his outdoor skills to the full, and wrote the accompanying book for the series. In Climbing the Giants he climbed one of the world's tallest trees for Channel Five, and in 2009 he co-presented the two part series Living with the Monkeys for BBC1. Most recently, he presents The Hunger, a documentary about life in a San Village in the Kalahari Desert, which airs in May 2013 on the Discovery Channel.
Guy's writing and television work demonstrate his key strengths of humour, humility, real outdoor expertise and a great ability to make genuine connections with people from every walk of life. Most recently he skippered a forty-one foot sailing boat from Venezuela back to his home in the Hebrides via the infamous 'Great Circle' route across the North Atlantic-a journey of over 10,000 miles.... with his wife and their two young sons as crew! A book on the subject will be published by Bloomsbury.
Guy is half Italian and half Scottish and was born in Southern Africa. He has had some great adventures so far and all without the benefit of a trust-fund...
