  • Corporate Biography

From semi-observational & authored docs to newspaper reviews, hard-hitting investigations to panel discussions, Tazeen Ahmad brings great depth and breadth of experience to every project.

She's a long-established broadcaster, writer and award-winning journalist with almost 20 years of experience. Most recently Tazeen co-presented the major BBC Two documentary The Truth About Child Sex Abuse. She's been an investigative reporter for Channel 4's current affairs show Dispatches for over 8 years, a foreign correspondent for the American network NBC, and a regular feature writer and commentator for British newspapers and magazines.

Her repertoire has included fearless doorsteps, consumer exposes, undercover filming, campaigning journalism and compassionate interviews with people with extraordinary stories: her insightful and thoughtful approach is often peppered with humour and kindness.

For her book, The Checkout Girl, Tazeen went undercover for 6 months to shed light on the truth about life on the tills and dealing with the British public. Its insights into modern-day manners garnered great interest from major newspapers and broadcasters.

Tazeen's recent eye-opening and heart-breaking investigation into 'The Hunt for Britain's Sex Gangs' was nominated for a BAFTA and won a RTS and AIB award, amongst others. Her other investigations include the NHS, schools and prisons as well as a large number of consumer stories, many involving undercover work, in the world of fashion, credit cards, supermarkets and the cosmetics industry. At NBC, she travelled widely including to Afghanistan, and was one of the first foreign correspondents on the ground in Pakistan when Osama Bin Laden was assassinated.

Her broadcasting career started at ITN before moving to work at BBC News for over 11 years as a senior journalist and presenter. She left in 2006 after the birth of her first child and shortly after joined NBC News and Channel 4. While at the BBC she was BBC 3's main presenter on 60Seconds and The 7 O'Clock News alongside Eddie Mair. This followed a long stint as a reporter for Radio 5 Live, working her way up through local radio, Radio 4 and the World Service. She has also reported on BBC One's Election night, Inside Out, Countryfile and the BBC's entertainment news show, Liquid News.

The diversity in her professional life follows an equally diverse childhood living and being schooled between the UK, Asia and Africa by her academic parents. Now a mother to young children, she has a strong developing interest in the psychology of emotional intelligence in personal and professional arenas. She holds very popular classes and lectures based on her extensive research in this area at The School of Life in London.
