Louisa Bojesen is the anchor of CNBC’s daily worldwide business news show, European Closing Bell. In addition, Bojesen reports for CNBC U.S., CNBC Asia, NBC, MSNBC, LBC London talk radio, and she has been a contributor on numerous other shows. She hosted all the morning TV shows on CNBC Europe for a decade, and has been with CNBC since 2000. She also writes for several publications.
Apart from interviewing CEOs and industry experts in the studio, Bojesen is equally active on the global business scene. She has a keen interest in the Middle East, and has covered the World Economic Forum for the Middle East for many years. She has hosted televised Middle East Debates out of Jordan and Sharm El-Sheikh, moderated panels on the Middle East for the World Economic Forum, and interviewed top business, political, government, and royal leaders out of the region.
Louisa has regularly covered market moves from trading floors; she interviews top Central Bank officials, financial market gurus, and Prime Ministers. Bojesen has reported on numerous government elections, was live on-air when the 7/7 bombing happened in London, she covered the foiled transatlantic bomb from outside of Heathrow, and has covered the World Mobile Congress on technology live out of Cannes and Barcelona for numerous years running.
Louisa is a sought after speaker and moderator. She is often requested as a Keynote Speaker/Master of Ceremonies, chairs panels, and hosts high profile events around the world. The topics she covers are as wide ranging as the people she interviews- stretching from foreign exchange panels on the financial crisis, the role of Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Middle East, regulation of the Indian banking system, M&A activity, issues of leadership, and European port and infrastructure financing.
During 2008, Louisa decided to spend her spare time focussing on climate change and its devastating effects on Africa. She facilitated a trip to Ghana, through Concern Universal, a non-profit charity. The result can be seen in a documentary that aired on CNBC. Louisa is also a Goodwill Ambassador for Denmark, her native country, and she is a known figure on the Nordic financial scene.
