Frances Finn

Frances Finn is the Sony Radio Academy’s Speech Personality Of The Year, 2010. She won the gold award for her morning show on BBC Radio Nottingham, a topical and lively programme that draws on her skills as a journalist and entertainer.

Frances is also used as a presenter on BBC Radio Five Live.

She has worked as a radio and television journalist for 13 years, starting at BBC Radio Derby and moving to BBC Nottingham in 2003. She also has experience as a TV news reader and reporter. Fran has read bulletins for BBC East Midlands Today and has been a member of their sports news team. She currently combines her radio work with occasional TV feature reporting.

In 2005 she won the BBC’s Gillard award for best Religious Broadcaster, during her time as Radio Nottingham’s Sunday Breakfast Show presenter.

Frances is used by the BBC’s College of Journalism to coach regional radio presenters and news readers. She has versatile vocal skills, specialising in regional and international accents, used in voice-over work for businesses and media.

Frances is a regular public speaker, and is invited to speak at church and radio-related events. She has also hosted many awards ceremonies, including the BBC Gillard Radio Awards.

She brings many interests to her broadcasting career. She is an accomplished musician, rides sports motorbikes, is a competent tennis player and snow boarder, has completed several cookery schools, maintains an interest in science and theology, and has experience in counselling and psycho-analysis.
