Carol and I started in broadcasting on the very same day in 1973 when our employer, LBC, hit the airwaves as the first legal commercial radio station in Britain. She had an infectious laugh, an irreverent giggle, and an ever present grasp of a good story.

After only a few months at LBC the place went bust and most of us were sacked. She and I found ourselves fronting London at One - a direct competitor of The World at One. We had endless fun preparing every show, sitting at the same desk, amazed by the people prepared to join us on it. Freya started in TV behind the camera as a production assistant, but since then her presenting work has ranged from lifestyle and youth, to live entertainment and sports programming. Her current projects include being the new presenter for Volvo’s internal communications and she is also part of the team at The Jewellery Channel.

Professor Margaret Cox is an internationally experienced forensic archaeologist/anthropologist who has worked in such places as Rwanda, Kosovo and Cyprus. She was until recently Professor of Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology at Cranfield University and is President of the Inforce Foundation. Gillian Joseph is a presenter of Sky News Sunrise at weekends. Gillian joined Sky News in 2005 and has presented Sky News’ late evening strands, including Sky News at Ten and Live at Five.
