Jennie Bond & Angela Rippon, BBC1 revives Rip-Off Britain

BBC1 has commissioned a second extended series of consumer show Rip-Off Britain. The 20 x 45-minute series will see Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Jennie Bond taking on the nation’s consumer problems. In response to the credit crunch, the new run will see the presenters investigating stories suggested by the public, who will share their horror stories. It will concentrate on showing viewers how to make informed choices about their finances and demand answers from the people at the top. The show is made by BBC Current Affairs and the executive producers are Carla-Maria Lawson and Sinead Rocks. It was commissioned by Liam Keelan, controller of BBC Daytime. “It’s fantastic to see such talented and experience presenters back on daytime tackling the issues that matter so much to our audience,” said Keelan. The series is due to TX in the autumn.
