Adam Shaw

adam shawAdam Shaw is an award winning financial reporter and presenter.

He recently won the Broadcaster of the Year award, presented by the ABI, which represents major investors and insurers.

He is one of the best known financial faces on television and radio. Up until recently he was the business presenter of the BBC’s flagship news and current affairs programme, the Today Programme, which is listened to by 7 million people every day.

He is regularly on BBC1's The One Show and for many years presented BBC2's Working Lunch.

He currently presents the BBC World News series, Horizons and is filming a new series for Discovery. He has also been the presenter of BBC 1’s Business Breakfast, Radio 5’s Wake Up To Money and Radio 4’s Financial World Tonight.

He has presented numerous Panorama programmes - the most recent of which was How To Mend Broken Britain. Before that, he worked as a business reporter for BSkyB and travelled extensively in Eastern Europe reporting on the growth of business there. He has also reported on businesses in Asia and Canada.

He has interviewed most of the chief executives of the UK’s biggest companies. His reporting and presenting has won him many awards. In addition to his most recent award, The Plain English Campaign made him their Broadcaster Of The Year. He was awarded the Best Broadcast Journalist of the Year by the Association of Investment Companies'. His business coverage on the Today programme won the Best Business Radio Programme award from the Institute of Financial Accountants. In addition to that, he was twice made the Proshare personality of the year for his work in reporting on the world of shares and investments.

Outside of the world of business he presented: Tutus and Tiaras – A year in the life of the English National Ballet and The Dame Game – a behind the scenes look at pantomime and its history.

Many years ago Adam was also an actor who worked, amongst other things, for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

In addition to his work on television and radio, Adam has written for a number of newspapers including the Independent, Mail on Sunday and the Metro. He has written and co-authored a number of books: Political Rhubarb, Money and How To Make More Of It, Managing Credit and Investing Basics.

Adam also chairs conferences and seminars and is a highly skilled conference facilitator and after dinner speaker. He has a wealth of experience hosting events and award ceremonies, both at home and abroad.
