Jago is an archeologist who contributed to the Channel 4 series - Man On Earth. The series explored how humans have dealt with the impacts of climate change in the past and what lessons we can learn for the future.

Dr Jago Cooper has spent the last 15 years working on a series of exciting archaeological excavations around the world. Jago originally developed his interests in Latin American archaeology and human environment interactions whilst studying at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. He then worked on rescue excavations in and around London for the Museum of London Archaeology Service and Wessex Archaeology before returning to the Institute of Archaeology to complete his masters and doctoral research.

Over the years, Jago has gained a wide range of archaeological expertise working on projects in Australia, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain and Sri Lanka. Jago joined the School of Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Leicester in 2007 as a lecturer in archaeology. In 2008 Jago was awarded a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship to study the archaeology of climate change in the Caribbean.
